Back from Spain and all is well

We got back late Sunday night after a grueling 18 hours in airplanes and airports. We had so much fun. It was really amazing to see all the history and culture that Spain has. Here are a few of my favorite pictures, if you didn't already see them on facebook. (there are more there too).

These are the cisterns in Caceres, where we spent most of our time.

A sunset in Caceres as we were walking to the Flamenco show.

This is the whole group, minus the professor, in Merida. This is a Roman-built theater. The Romans inhabited Spain a century or so AD until about 5 AD.

This is the Cathedral in Sevilla. It is the second largest cathedral in the world.

Well this could get very long so more for later. We had such a great time.

SPAIN

So it is about five weeks until Todd and I run away to Spain for four weeks. Yes, four weeks. It is a study abroad that one of Todd's professors has set up. So i am working hard at my Spanish 1010 class.

We like to say that it is our graduation presents to each other, as well as anniversary and birthday for the year. We might add in christmas and any other holiday that we don't want to shop for.

So we will be in Casares, Spain for four weeks, eating spanish food, seeing spanish castles and doing whatever it is spanish people do. so if anyone has any advice for traveling in spain, let me know.

a very good christmas

We always have such a crazy Christmas. We run from one family party to another. This year, however, we didn't have as many family parties, and it almost felt relaxing. Christmas eve breakfast we were at Tom & Diana's. Then we went to pick up Sean at Jolene's, and we headed up to Huntsville, to spend some time with John and Jill. The drive home was a bit scary. But we made it ok.

The next morning, we exchanged gifts here. Todd gave me an itouch, which is so much fun. Then we went over to Jolene's for breakfast. Sean got Guitar Hero World Tour and we all rocked out for an hour or so. Then we were back at my parent's again. It was really fun. Usually my mom's family comes up, and it is fun. But they didn't want to dare the drive. It was fun. We ate dinner, exchanged gifts--cayden, baylie, and alyssa wanted to open all the gifts--and played games.

The next day we drove up to Bloomington, just outside Bear Lake, to Doug and Kris's cabin--Todd's aunt and uncle. We stayed there for a night. We went snowmobiling, played games, and watched movies. The drive there and back were a little rough but we made it. We were assisted down logan canyon by the cops and people were moving very slow. But we made it home in a few hours or so.

All in all we had a fun Christmas. I hope you all had a good Christmas too. Happy New Year to all of you.

long time no post

As most of you know, life just seems to get busier and busier as it goes on. It almost seems like I don't even have time to eat lunch or dinner. I am guessing that it will just get worse as time moves on, but I can hope for some relief, right?

So because of that, I have found an easier way to keep in touch with people--Facebook. I rebelled against it at first, but now that I am addicted to it like a very good drug, i have seen the error of my views. So if you want to send me a message or just say hi, I am there, sometimes. I will try to post things here along the way, just to keep the masses at bay, but if it is important send me a message there.

Love and a spa day to you all, especially with the upcoming holiday season.

my feet hurt

It seems like I am getting very old, even though I am not. Today, we had a field trip at the preschool. We went to the fire station. And it was not just going to the fire station. We walked with all the kids and parents to the fire station. That should not make me feel old necessarily, but we walked there and bac a few blocks in the morning session, and then we walked there and back in the afternoon session.

And if that wasn't enough, I got a new calling. I am the young womens and womens sports director. Not that that should make me feel old either. In fact, I love this calling. It is one of my favorite callings. But after a long day of walking, I went and played volleyball for three hours.

As a 25 year old woman, this should not be a problem. But I am feeling it in the heels and balls of my feet, in my ankles, in my knees, and yes in my hips too. I am feeling like I could use two ankle replacements right now.

As much as I am excited for Janson to get married tomorrow, I am not sure if my ankles will make it through the day.

My Personal Impersonal Invitation to YOU

The month of september is past its prime, which is very very very good for me. It seems like everything collides into one or two months out of the year--september is one of them.

Because the month just didn't seem fun enough, I decided to add one more thing to it. On September 27th, I am having a party, but not just any party. We will have Layers, Sentsy, and Stampin' Up all in one place--my house at 11:00am.

So this is my personal invitation to anyone who would like to come, have lunch, and hang out. We will be making a card and trying on all the new layers stuff. Hopefully it will be fun.

Love to all.

My first surgery...except for my wisdom teeth

Yesterday, I went in for a Laperoscopy (I can't spell that) and a Hysterosocopy (that one either). The doctor found a lot of cysts, that one I knew would be in there, I could feel it, but he also found some Endometriosis, that one I didn't know about.

After a day of rest, I am back to my usual schedule. I am giving a writing assignment in my first class today and the same in my later class. I think i am doing fine. I am a bit woosy from the pain killers, and I had to arrange a ride here and home.

So I had to miss the first day of preschool for the twins but all in all I think they did ok without me there.
